Sweater dresses are big this season, and I’m particularly liking the ones that button up the front because they seem so much more versatile. Wear it as a dress, as pictured. (Ok, maybe with different shoes and socks…) In fall/spring, you can unbutton higher and show a bit of bare leg. I’d also play with wearing it either as a dress-with-pants (high slit — maybe with only 3-4 buttons buttoned) — or as a duster cardigan, worn completely open. (I’m seeing it with flared black trousers and a simple black tank-like bodysuit or turtleneck, but that’s me.)
The sweater dress itself is on a pretty big sale at Nordstrom – it was $110, but is now down to $66; in addition to the dark blue color pictured it’s available in a light brown; Madewell still has some petite sizes in stock. If you prefer gray or white, Caslon has something really similar for $89. (So does Rag & Bone, but for $318.)
