My Spring Wardrobe Essentials 2023
I’ve said this before, but the changing seasons are always hard to dress for, and I think spring is the most challenging season because the weather is so unpredictable. Plus, we typically get lots of rain and wind here in Kentucky. One of the easiest ways to ensure your closet is prepared for the season is to have some spring wardrobe essentials.
Once you have your basics, like short sleeve t-shirts, lightweight jackets, transitional blouses, and sneakers, you can add any spring trends that resonate with you.
If you’re unsure where to start with your spring outfits or need to update your spring wardrobe staples, here are my top essentials. I’ve updated them for 2023 with what I want to have in my closet.
My Spring Wardrobe Essentials 2023
ONE / TWO / THREE / FOUR / FIVE / SIX / SEVEN / EIGHT/ NINE / TEN /ELEVEN / TWELVE / THIRTEEN
1. Short Sleeve T-Shirt
A classic white t-shirt is a go-to piece for all seasons. It looks good by itself, but it’s also a great layering piece. I like a mixture of crew neck and v-neck white shirts.
2. The Crisp White Button Up Shirt
This year the menswear-inspired staple is updated with an oversized fit. A crisp white button-up shirt is a must-have that will come in handy no matter one’s individual style. Wear the shirt with denim and leggings.
White Shirt (I’m wearing a small but would prefer sizing down) • High Rise Straight Jeans (6) • Necklace • Cross Charm • Necklace • Earrings
3. A Chic Sneaker
Over the past few seasons, sneakers have become the shoe of choice. Whether you go with an all white or a sporty sneaker, they’re a great option for spring
4. Utility Pants/Cargo Pants
This is something I want to add to my spring wardrobe. A relaxed fit trouser makes almost any outfit look effortless. Pair with a classic t-shirt or body suit or with a blazer and dress shirt.
5. Trench Coat
A trench coat is my most-used spring outerwear in spring. Trench coats are a classic piece, and the oversized trench is trending this year. A trench coat will dress up a pair of jeans or works well over a floral dress—the combinations you can come up with are endless.
6. An Oversized Denim Jacket
I always have a denim jacket with me in the spring, but it’s getting updated to a more oversized fit this year. I like the idea of an oversized denim jacket with lightweight sweaters.
7. Relaxed Denim
No doubt we’re going to see more relaxed denim this year. I won’t wear overly baggy jeans, but I will wear a relaxed boyfriend jean, whether it’s a blue or white denim.
8. Spring Dresses
Whether running errands or heading out to dinner or church, a spring dress is great for styling with sandals or sneakers.
9. Pointed Toe Shoes
This time of year, it’s too cold to wear sandals, and I’m tired of wearing ankle booties, so closed-toe shoes are essential for spring dressing. I’m adding some pointed toe shoes to my spring wardrobe.
10. Transitional Blouse
One of my go-to looks year-round is a statement blouse and simple jeans, so it’s no surprise that one of my spring wardrobe essentials is a beautiful blouse. Go simple with a colorful button-up, or go feminine with ruffles and smocking.
Pattie Top (small) • Denim (27) • Nude Heel
11. The Practical Tote
Colorful bags are fun, but I recommend having a neutral handbag for spring.
12. A Go With Everything Belt
If you’re looking for an extremely easy way to elevate any outfit, a belt is the way to go!
13. Blazer
A blazer is the epitome of modern-day cool and sophisticated dressing. I like pairing my blazer with a graphic tee, denim, and sneakers.
LOFT Blazer (sold out)//White Tee (sold out)//AG Jeans (sold out)//Steve Madden Mules (sold out)//Madewell Camera Bag

Beauty for the Heart– But you, O Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. Psalm 3:3
Truth: David was not sitting on his throne in this verse; he was running for his life from his rebellious son Absalom. We may not be running, but our life circumstances can be difficult. God reminds us that he is our shield; he’s our protector.
My favorite part of this verse is the one who holds my head high. This literally means he brings up or exalts. Today you may not feel worthy, but you ARE. Maybe you have past sins that you still have guilt over, or perhaps you feel “less than.”
But God lifts your head and reminds you that you ARE worthy. Nothing you have done or will do can stop Him from loving YOU.
Today, lift your head high and know that you are a daughter of the King.
